Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop a 10 hectare quarry approximately 1.4 kilometres north of Walsh River Bridge, on the Trans Labrador Highway approximately five kilometres west of Labrador City.  The operation will consist of drilling and blasting, crushing, screening and possibly washing of aggregate with the purpose of supplying the local concrete/asphalt and construction aggregate market.   The expected period of operation is between May and December yearly for aggregate production with hauling of stockpiled material to occur year-round.

• June 12, 2015 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 22, 2015 – Deadline for public comments.
• July 27, 2015 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 24, 2016 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
