Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to reroute one kilometre of snowmobile trail in parallel to the current trail which uses Warrs Road located on the west side of the Trans Canada Highway in the Springdale Junction Area. The trial reroute is necessary due to plowing of the gravel road in winter. The new trail will be constructed to a standard width of seven metres for safe operation of snowmobiles/groomers and will connect snowmobilers to the Newfoundland Snowmobile Federation main trail.

• December 2, 2015 – The undertaking was registered.
• January 13, 2016 – Deadline for public comments.
• January 16, 2016 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
• September 29, 2016 – The Minister announced that the project is released from further environmental assessment.
