Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal for a Five-year Operating Plan for Zone 7 which includes Forest Management Districts 9 and 16 surrounding White Bay. Zone 7 extends from Deer Lake in the west to Cat Arm in the north and includes all of the Baie Verte Peninsula. The plan describes proposed timber harvesting operations, construction of access roads and silviculture activites. The plan covers the period from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021.

• July 14, 2016 – The undertaking was registered.
• August 18, 2016 – Deadline for public comments.
• August 28, 2016 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
• November 30, 2016 – Deadline for public comments (extended).
• December 15, 2016 – The Minister’s Decision is due (extended).
• January 31, 2017 – The Minister’s Decision is due (extended).
• February 10, 2017 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
