Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to establish a one-hectare gravel, rock and sand quarry near other existing quarries.  The quarry will be located approximately two kilometres west of Creston North and approximately three kilometres west of Marystown, north of Route 210, on the Burin Peninsula.  The quarry will be operated on a seasonal basis and is expected to be in production for 10 to 20 years.  The project is scheduled to begin upon approval.

• October 4, 2016 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 11, 2016 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 18, 2016 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 30, 2016 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
