Project Description:

The proposed project involves the development of a 7.72 hectare sand and gravel quarry approximately 10 kilometres east of the Town of Wabush airport. The site is accessible via Route 500 on an existing gravel access road. The area will be developed as an open pit quarry operation and will not involve drilling or blasting. The project will produce concrete sand aggregates, Class A and B aggregates, and Class A Stone aggregates to be utilized for various construction projects in Labrador West.

• September 7, 2017 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 16, 2017 – Deadline for public comments.
• October 22, 2017 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
• November 6, 2017 – The Minister’s Decision is due (extended).
• November 9, 2017 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
