Project Description:

The proponent is planning to develop a 2.2 hectare quarry approximately two kilometers southeast of Salt Pond on the Burin Peninsula. Access to the quarry is via an existing road off Green Hill Road and will require construction of a new road, approximately 15 metres long by 10 metres wide, to access the site. The purpose of the project is to supply gravel and slate to the local market for road construction, driveway construction, and land development.

• September 18, 2017 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 24, 2017 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 2, 2017 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 9, 2017 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
