Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to develop a 10 to 15 hectare aggregate quarry within a 28 hectare area. The site is located approximately three kilometres south of Lewisporte and 500 metres east of Route 340 and will be accessed via an existing road. The undertaking will involve the excavation and removal of aggregate deposits from the area using excavators and loaders from May to December, over approximately 10 years.

• May 10, 2018 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 14, 2018 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 24, 2018 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
• July 26, 2018 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
