Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop a multi-purpose trail for hiking and ATV/snowmobile use in the Spout Brook area in the east end of the Town of Victoria, Conception Bay. The trail will be developed along a one kilometre section of the former railway track and will provide connection to other developed trails along the North Shore. Work will be conducted by volunteers and will require brush clearing with some tree stump and rock removal.

• September 25, 2018 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 1, 2018 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 9, 2018 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 30, 2018 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• January 10, 2019 – Environmental Preview Report (EPR) required.
• February 7, 2019 – Environmental Assessment Committee appointed.
• March 4, 2019 – EPR Guidelines due to be issued.
• March 6, 2019 – EPR Guidelines Issued.
• April 29, 2019 – Project withdrawn.
