Lakely’s Brook (Terrenceville) Quarry Expansion

Proponent: Mr. Dean Clarke

Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to expand their existing sand and gravel quarry near Lakely’s Brook. The 5.6 hectare addition will be located 1.8 kilometres north of the intersection between the Terrenceville highway (Route 211) and the Burin Peninsula highway (Route 210). A new access road from Route 211 will be required to connect to an existing gravel road that services the quarry area. This gravel road will also be extended to cross Lakely’s Brook and access the proposed new site. Construction will involve clearing, grubbing and quarry development. Operations will include excavating, screening, stockpiling and transporting aggregate materials. No drilling, blasting or crushing operations will be conducted.
