Project Description:

The proponent proposes to clear and develop a 402-hectare parcel of Crown land to operate a blueberry farm near Butlerville, off Shearstown Road and the Veteran’s Memorial Highway (Route 75). Work is planned over a four-year period and will involve land clearing and burning of vegetation to upgrade the blueberry stock. The area will be fenced and the harvested berries will be transported to the proponent’s processing facility in Whitbourne.

• April 26, 2019 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 3, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 9, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• June 19, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• July 22, 2019 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
