Project Description:

The proponent proposes to expand their existing rock quarry located along Rocky Pond Road in Spaniard’s Bay. The quarry is located approximately two kilometers west of the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Rocky Pond Road. The proposed expansion will cover an area of 12 hectares and will be used for manufacturing aggregate construction materials for projects on the Avalon Peninsula.

• May 2, 2019 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 14, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 16, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 5, 2019 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
