Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to develop a 13.92 hectare rock quarry located off East White Hills Road within the city of St. John’s. Access to the site will be from East White Hills Road, using the access road to an existing adjacent quarry. The access road will be extended as required. Site development will involve clearing, grubbing and stockpiling of overburden. Quarry operations will include blasting, excavation, crushing, stockpiling, loading and transport of the aggregate.

• May 13, 2019 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 18, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 27, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• July 22, 2019 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
