Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop a facility on the former Abitibi paper mill site in Stephenville to produce liquid fish fertilizer, fish meal and compost. The site will use inputs such as fish mortalities and fish manure, fish oils, decomposed wood chips and bark, onsite topsoil, sand and peat.

• August 5, 2019 – The undertaking was registered.
• September 11, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
• September 19, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• January 30, 2020 – The Minister announced that the project is withdrawn.
