Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to construct and operate a 6.5 hectare quarry located approximately 16.2 kilometres southwest of Labrador City to source surficial sand and gravel aggregate. Construction of the quarry will include clearing the site from trees and grubbing and operation may include screening. Development of the quarry will begin near the site entrance and expand to the west over several years. Production from the site is expected to be between 12,000 and 20,000 tonnes per year.

• August 31, 2020 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 6, 2020 – Deadline for public comments.
• October 15, 2020 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 20, 2020 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
• November 9, 2023 – Water Resources Managment Plan is acceptable.
