Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to construct and operate an abattoir at its existing farm, Kettle Hill Farm, located on Route 80 near the community of Hopeall, Trinity Bay.  The abattoir will operate year-round and provide services to local farmers.

• October 27, 2020 – The undertaking was registered.
• December 3, 2020 – Deadline for public comments.
• December 11, 2020 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• December 17, 2020 – Environmental Preview Report (EPR) is required.
• December 17, 2020 – Environmental Assessment Committee is appointed.
• February 14, 2021 – EPR Guidelines due to be issued.
• February 18, 2021 – The Minister issued the EPR Guidelines.
• September 20, 2021 – EPR submitted for review.
• October 25, 2021 – Deadline for public comments on the EPR.
• November 4, 2021 – The Minister’s decision on the EPR is due.
• October 29, 2021 – The Minister announced the project is released.
• July 28, 2022 – Waste Management Plan approved.
