Project Description:
The proponent has submitted a five-year operating plan for Crown District 23. District 23 encompasses 2.2 million hectares of boreal forest in Northern Labrador. The District is generally bound by the Labrador Coast to the east, Groswater Bay and Lake Melville to the south, the Mulligan and Red Wine Rivers to the west, and the Kanainktok Bay River and Bay to the north. The plan includes a description of proposed commercial and domestic timber harvesting, the construction of forest access roads, and silviculture activities. The plan covers the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2027.

- September 24, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
- October 7, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).

- November 25, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
- December 21, 2022 – The Minister determined the project is released.
