Fleurs de Lys Water Supply Development (Expansion)

Proponent: Town of Fleur de Lys

Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposed to develop an additional water body to increase the capacity of the existing surface water supply for the Town of Fleur de Lys. The proposed expansion was for construction of an above ground water line to transport water from a small pond located on Barry’s Brook to supply water to First Pond where the intake for the Town’s water supply is located. Construction would include installation of a power transmission line to operate the pumping portion of the added supply. The project was planned to begin in the early Spring 2001.

  • February 8, 2001 – The undertaking was registered.
  • April 4, 2001 – The Minister announced that the project was released from environmental assessment. Release was conditional upon the proponent submitting the final water treatment design to the Department of Environment for approval.
