Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct and maintain a 240 km, two way, winter snowmobile trail from Muskrat Falls to Churchill Falls in Labrador. The trail will have a right of way cut to winter trail specifications, 6 m wide and following transmission lines and old roads where possible. The trail is intended for winter use only and no construction of bridges is anticipated. Rest stations will be placed on skids and located approximately 50 km apart. Trail development, including appropriate signage is expected to commence in the summer/fall of 2001 and be completed within 13 weeks.

• April 12, 2001 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 15, 2001 – The minister announced that the undertaking was released from environmental assessment.
