In 2002, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment purchased three cube vans with sixteen foot long boxes to be transformed into a unique training tool for municipal water and wastewater operators. The cube vans were outfitted with a work bench, electrical power connections, storage cupboards, and equipment/tools related to municipal water and wastewater operations. These vehicles have become portable classrooms, referred to as Mobile Training Units (MTUs), which allow the OETC program to provide on-site hands-on training.
