Site Specific Water Quality Index (SS-WQI)

Site specific water quality guidelines are required when there are high natural background levels of particular parameters in water bodies. The site specific WQI calculator was created by Water Resources Management Division to deal with such situations. The calculator uses a CCME approved derivation method called the Background Concentration Procedure. The SS-WQI has all the same functionality of the CWQI with the addition of a site specific guideline generation option.
