Project Description:
The proponent intends to construct 1,200 metres of 6-metre wide Class C-2 access road from the paved highway (Route340) just North of the Boyd’s Cove Causeway to a proposed wharf for off-loading of barged pulpwood and saw logs. Four to six barges per year are expected with 5,000 – 10,000 cubic metres each of wood that will be stored at the site until it can be further transported by road for processing. It is anticipated that construction will start in early June.
- April 25, 2002 – The undertaking was registered.
- June 28, 2002 – The Minister announced that the undertaking was released from environmental assessment.
