Project Description:

The proponent proposes an amendment to the current five year plan (2002-2007) to harvest insect damaged timber in the Camp 20 Operating Area (winter roads only) and to harvest class III timber in the Ocean Pond Operating Area (new roads to be constructed). The Camp 20 amendment covers 133 hectares and includes harvesting 9,897 cubic metres of merchantable softwood volume. The Ocean Pond amendment covers 91 hectares and includes construction of 3.7 kilometres of forest access road, and the harvesting of 6,720 cubic metres of merchantable volume.

• June 3, 2003 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 9, 2003 – Public comments were due.
• August 12, 2003 – The Minister released the undertaking from further environmental assessment.
