Project Description:

The proponent plans to develop a multi-season motor sport recreation facility south of the Trans Canada Highway and northeast of Cochrane Pond Park in the Paddy’s Pond area for such recreational uses as snowmobiling, motocross, and biking for leisure riders and competitive racing. Approximately ten supervised snowmobile, ATV, bicycle, and dirt bike events will be organized annually for the eight acres of track that will be cleared.There will be general use / admission to the site for practice or leisure riding on days that special events are not scheduled.The proponent hopes that construction of the trails, spectator area, and parking area can be completed by mid-January 2006.

• August 24, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
• September 28, 2005 – Public comments are due.
• October 13, 2005 – The Minister did not permit the project to proceed due to unacceptable effects.
