Project Description:
The proponent proposes to develop a 18 hole golf course surrounded by 337 residential lots on a 290 hectare site to the east of the Town of Pasadena along the south side of the Trans Canada Highway in western Newfoundland . Development of the golf course is to include a driving range, irrigation system and 800 square metre two-story club house and pro-shop. Proposed residential building lots will be a minimum of 4,000 square metres (one acre) with private waste disposal systems. Domestic and irrigation water will be sourced from Deer Lake with a pump house, water treatment and distribution system for delivery of water to the resort. Construction is planned to commence in June 2006.
- September 2, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
- October 7, 2005 – Public comments are due.
- October 17, 2005 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- November 4, 2005 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review, subject to conditions.
- December 27, 2006 – The Minister accepts the Environmental Protection Plan for Phase 1 of the project as satisfactory.
