Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent plans to develop a primary snowmobile trail with starting points at Highway 320 from New-Wes Valley, the Greenspond Road intersection and Centreville. The trail will include the existing old Bonavista North Highway connecting New-Wes Valley to Centreville, with side woods roads that access the Greenspond Road intersection, Ten Mile Pond, Indian Bay Pond, First Pond, Four Mile Pond and into the existing Kittiwake Snowmobile Association Trail. Construction will include minimal brush cutting along the sides of the existing roads and wash-out repair to ensure safety.

  • April 3, 2007 – Public comments are due.
  • April 9, 2007 – The Minister’s decision is due.
  • May 28, 2007 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment.
