Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to upgrade an existing 3.5 kilometre All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Trail to access an existing cabin located near Shoal Peak from Tilt Hill on the Burin Peninsula . The trail is located approximately 13 kilometres north of the Town of St. Lawrence and will join the St. Lawrence Area Trail Association’s recreational trails. The trail will be constructed to a maximum width of 4 metres and will also be used for snowmobile access in winter.

• June 6, 2007 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 13, 2007 – Public comments are due.
• July 21, 2007 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 23, 2007 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
