Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop two to three tourist cabins and 15 to 20 serviced recreational vehicle camp sites on 23 hectares of land. The site is located at Northwest Brook on Route 210 between the towns of Marystown and Winterland on the Burin Peninsula. The proposed development will also include an office, canteen and dumping station. Construction is expected to begin as soon as regulatory permits and approvals are in place and is anticipated to take approximately three months. Operation of the facility will be seasonal.

• December 22, 2008 – The undertaking was registered.
• January 27, 2009 – Public comments are due.
• February 5, 2009 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• February 25, 2009 – Undertaking was released.
