Proponent: Nalcor Oil & Gas Inc.
The proposal is to construct a 10.4 kilometre access road and develop two sites for drilling exploration oil and gas wells. Access to the road is to be via an existing trail called Five Mile Road, which leaves Route 430 south of Arches Provincial Park. The sites are located north of Parson’s Pond, approximately 4 kilometres east of the Town. Construction and drilling are to commence May and July, 2009, respectively, depending upon approval.
- February 20, 2009 – The undertaking was registered.
- April 8, 2009 – Public comments are due.
- April 16, 2009 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- July 15, 2009 – The Minister requires an Environmental Preview Report.
- August 6, 2009 – The EA Committee was appointed.
- August 21, 2009 – The Minister issues the Guidelines for the Environmental Preview Report.
- May 17, 2010 – The project was released.
