Proponent: Clarenville Yacht Club Inc.
Summary of Environmental Assessment Process
Project Description:
The proponent proposes to construct a permanent 122 metre rock fill breakwater in the waters of Dark Hole, Clarenville. Access to the proposed breakwater will be achieved by infilling the shoreline from the end of the existing marina parking lot. The endpoint for the breakwater will be determined as part of detailed engineering design, which will include a sounding program to support the selection of the most economical and technically viable solution. In addition to the breakwater, the proponent is proposing to reconfigure the existing marina. Construction is scheduled to start between September 1 and November 1, 2010 and last for approximately 3 weeks, subject to approval.
