Project Description:
The proponent proposes to construct a state-of-the-art crab processing facility in Mary’sHarbour on the south coast of Labrador. The facility will be located adjacent to the Government wharf on the south and the community road to town centre in the east. To accommodate the pre-engineered steel building, a total of 450 square metres of harbour will bein-filled with blasted rock. The facility will have the capability of processing live snow crab into either cooked or raw sections, with processing taking place for approximately six months annually, May to October. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin this summer/fall.

- July 18, 2010 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- July 27, 2010 – The project was released.
