Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent intends to develop a one-kilometre access trail from existing forest access roads near Springdale to a cabin on Saltwater Pond Island. The trail is intended to give access by ATV or snowmobile to Saltwater Pond Island and will involve the construction of a wooden causeway across the tickle. The trail will be approximately five metres wide, with a gravel top. The causeway will be constructed with a five-metre wide by two-metre high opening above the tickle.

• March 8, 2012 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 18, 2012 – Public comments are due.
• April 21, 2012 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 27, 2012 – The undertaking is released.
