Project Description:
The proponent proposes to construct a new fish farm hatchery for salmonids at the former hatchery site in Hopeall, Trinity Bay. The land-based facility is being designed to produce 2.5 million fingerlings/smolt per year. The hatchery complex will consist of the following:two primary buildings including a small incubation building with office and workshop(approximately 200 square metres); on growing building where the fingerlings will be grown to commercial size of 60 to 80 grams (approximately 874 square metres); storage shed;and parking and turnaround areas. Construction is planned to commence in the Fall 2012 and operations to start in June 2013.

- September 6, 2012 – The undertaking was released.
