Project Description:
The proponent plans to construct and operate an automobile storage/scrapyard approximately 15 kilometres from Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Construction will consist of the removal of existing vegetation and the construction of a shed and a chain linked fence on the perimeter. The storage/scrapyard will provide an area to store scrapped vehicles until a salvage dealer can collect them. No crushing of vehicles will take place at this facility. The storage/scrapyard will operate year-round. Construction is scheduled to begin Fall 2012.
- October 25, 2012 – The undertaking was registered.
- November 29, 2012 – Public comments are due.
- December 9, 2012 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- February 1, 2013 — The Minister announced that the project is released.
