Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to treat non-hazardous offshore drilling muds and cuttings at an industrial park facility located off the Trans Canada Highway near Paddy’s Pond, St. John’s. Facilities will consist of a soil washing unit that will require the construction of a new treatment pad, the installation of high powered agitation mobile drilling mud stabilization equipment and ongoing enhanced bioremediation of hydrocarbon impacted soils. The proponent anticipates that the facility will be operational by the spring of 2014.

  • November 6, 2013 – The undertaking was registered.
  • December 13, 2013 – Deadline for public comments.
  • December 21, 2013 – The minister’s decision is due.
  • March 21, 2014 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
