Project Description:
The proponent proposes to develop 110 recreational cottage lots in the Ocean Pond area, approximately six kilometres east of the Town of Whitbourne, Avalon Peninsula. Access to the cottage lots will include construction of a 3.7 kilometre road which will be an extension of the existing Ocean Pond cottage road off the Trans Canada Highway. The development encompasses an area of 48.6 hectares plus 4.7 hectares for the road and will be a combination of waterfront and non-waterfront lots. Construction of the road is planned to be completed by Fall 2014.
- July 11, 2014 – The undertaking was registered.
- August 15, 2014 – Deadline for public comments.
- August 25, 2014 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- August 26, 2014 – The Minister’s decision has been extended.
- September 29, 2014 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
