Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to construct and operate a 9.9 hectare quarry off Route 330/28 near Cape Freels. The project will also require a 2.0 kilometre access road, to be constructed as the quarry is developed. Approximately two hectares will be developed annually and the quarry is expected to operate for eight months a year. Activities will include loading, hauling, screening and stock piling.

• February 2, 2016 – The undertaking was registered.
• March 9, 2016 – Deadline for public comments.
• March 17, 2016 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
• March 31, 2016 – The Minister’s Decision is due (extended).
• May 15, 2016 – The Minister’s Decision is due (extended).
• May 12, 2016 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
