Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a revised proposal to operate a microbrewery and a taproom in the Town of Port au Port East in a new location. This undertaking underwent environmental assessment (registration 1898), but has been registered again to allow for consideration of the new location. The beer produced will be small batch hand-crafted beer made from all natural ingredients (water, yeast, grain and hops) with no added preservatives. The establishment will be open to the public on a seasonal basis from May until October.

• September 18, 2017 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 24, 2017 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 2, 2017 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 9, 2017 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
