Project Description:
The proponent proposes to upgrade its metal recycling facility located on Incinerator Road in the City of St. John’s. The upgrades will include secondary processing of recycled metals to significantly reduce the physical volume of material handled while increasing the resale value of recovered material. Upgrades will include construction of a large concrete pad with associated drainage control (oil/metal/sediment separator), placement of a self-contained automobile depollution unit, installation of a metal shredding unit, and the installation of a non-ferrous processing plant. The project is scheduled to commence in March of 2018.
- February 13, 2018 – The undertaking was registered.
- March 22, 2018 – Deadline for public comments.
- March 30, 2018 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
- March 29, 2018 – The Minister announced that the project is withdrawn.
