Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to establish a 300 hectare farm for root crops on the northern side of the Lower Humber River between Steady Brook and Humber Village. Site access will be from the proponent’s adjacent farm area. The construction phase will include land clearing, draining and ditching to create suitable soil for growing vegetables and cold crops. The operation phase will include regular application of limestone and fertilizer, seeding, and harvesting crops.

• March 13, 2019 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 18, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
• April 27, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 14, 2019 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
