West Bottom Brook Bridge Replacement

Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to replace the deteriorated bridge on West Bottom Brook located on the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately four kilometres west of South Brook. A temporary panel bridge and paved bypass will be constructed within the current right-of-way. The existing bridge will be closed, demolished and removed such that no significant debris enters the river. The new replacement bridge will measure 43 metres in length x 14 metres in width and be constructed along the same horizontal alignment and is designed to withstand a minimum of 1:100 year flood events. The temporary bridge will be removed once the new bridge is open to traffic.

  • May 16, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
  • May 23, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
  • May 29, 2019 – The undertaking is released.
