Project Description:

The proponent proposes to install utility poles and anchors in the Petit Forte Distribution Line easement located between the communities of Brookside and Petit Forte on the east side of the Burin Peninsula in Placentia Bay. This is to facilitate the installation of a fibre optic line. The poles and anchors will be installed within 200 metres of three scheduled salmon rivers including the Bay de L’Eau River,  Cape Roger Brook and Non Such Brook.

• October 16, 2019 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 21, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 30, 2019 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• January 7, 2020 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
