Proponent: Northern Peninsula ATV Riders Association Inc.
Summary of Environmental Assessment Process
Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to construct an ATV Trail system on the Northern Peninsula, starting near St. Anthony and ending at Old Bay Brook Road, approximately 10 kilometres south of Cook’s Harbour. The trail would be approximately 38 kilometres long between these points, with several sub trails also incorporated around the St. Anthony area. The proponent intends to incorporate snowmobile trails and other existing trails into the system and these may require upgrades including brush clearing and small stream crossings. New construction would involve tree cutting, grubbing, bridge and culvert placement and installation of bog mats, where applicable.
