Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a Five-Year Operating Plan for Forest Management District 22. District 22 is generally located in Western Labrador, bounded by the Quebec-Newfoundland and Labrador border in the west and Forest Management Districts 19b, 23 and 24 to the east and north. The plan describes commercial and domestic timber harvesting operations, construction of access roads, silviculture monitoring and research, and forest protection activities. This plan covers the period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2026.

• August 12, 2021 – The undertaking was registered.
• September 16, 2021 – Deadline for public comments.
• September 26, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 10, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• December 9, 2021 – The Minister announced the project is released.
