Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop a continuous 24-kilometre hiking trail network within the Town of Placentia that would link the region’s historical and natural assets. The network would extend from Argentia to Point Verde, incorporating existing trails and dirt roads but would also require areas of new construction. Proposed activities include vegetation clearing, ditching, resurfacing with aggregate, and installation of culverts, boardwalks, footbridges and staircases.

• May 19, 2022 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 23, 2022 – Deadline for public comments.
• July 3, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• July 18, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• August 1, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• August 12, 2022 – The project has been withdrawn.
