Project Description:

The proponent is proposing an amendment to the Crown Zone 8 Five-Year Operating Plan (2023-2027) that would cover 236 hectares of productive forest lands near Bellburns on the Northern Peninsula. The amendment would provide domestic harvesters with access to an additional 6882 cubic metres of timber for use as fuelwood and sawlogs. The proposed amendment would not mean an increase in the total harvest volume for Zone 8.

 

• April 13, 2023 – The undertaking was registered.
• May 18, 2023 – Deadline for public comments.
• May 28, 2023 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• June 23, 2023 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• June 29, 2023 – The Minister determined the project is released.
