Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to remove an abandoned water control structure at Long Lake located approximately 46.6 kilometres southwest of the Town of Buchans. The proposed project is intended to support the proponent’s commitment to fulfill the requirements of the Fish Habitat Compensation Plan as identified for the Star Lake Hydroelectric Project. Project activities include the demolition of the water control structure, removal and disposal of materials and restoration of the site.

• September 14, 2023 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 19, 2023 – Deadline for public comments.
• October 29, 2023 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 27, 2023 – The Minister determined that the Project is released.
