Project Description:
The proponent proposes the development of approximately of land into a new commercial-retail area which is expected to accommodate such things as automotive dealers, accommodation facilities, restaurants, retail stores and businesses, grocery chains and department stores. The site is bounded by Route 420 on the northeast, the Humber River on the northwest, a residential area on the southwest and existing commercial development on the southeast. Land is proposed to be subdivided and developed into individual serviced lots. Access is proposed to be provided by construction of a new L-shaped road that would connect Route 430 with the Trans Canada Highway. Work on the development would be phased over a 36 month period as dictated by demand, beginning in the summer of 2002.

- February 18, 2002 – Public comments were due.
- March 19, 2002 – The Minister announced that the project was released from environmental assessment.
