Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct a wharf and lay down area for shipment of rock from a nearby quarry at Forteau, near Crow Head, Labrador. The proposed wharf would be 140 metres long by 70 metres wide and the lay down area will be approximately 1,200 metres along the shoreline by 50 metres wide. The proposed project involves the development of approximately seven hectares of land. Site access will be via the Trans Labrador Highway and will include upgrading a partially developed road and construction of a 700 metre extension.

• October 26, 2012 – Public comments are due.
• October 28, 2012 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• February 1, 2013 – Environmental preview report required.
• February 15, 2013 – Environmental assessment committee appointed.
• April 5, 2013 – Guidelines Issued.
• June 5, 2013 – Environmental preview report submitted.
• July 24, 2013 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
