LEVELWAGE RATEREQUIREMENTS FOR PROGRESSIONAPPRENTICE WILL PROGRESS TO:
160%- Completion of Pre-Employment/ AACS Level 1 training
- Registration as an apprentice
- Pass Level 1 exam*
- Minimum 1,800 hours of combined relevant work experience and training
Level 2
270%- Completion of AACS Level 2 training
- Pass Level 2 exam*
- Minimum 3,600 hours of combined relevant work experience and training
Level 3
380%- Completion of AACS Level 3 training
- Pass Level 3 exam*
- Minimum 5,400 hours of combined relevant work experience and training
Level 4
490%- Completion of AACS Level 4 training
- Pass Level 4 exam*
- Minimum of 7,200 hours of combined relevant work experience and training
- Sign-off of all workplace skills in apprentice logbook
- Pass certification exam
Journeyperson Certification

Wage Rates: Rates are percentages of the prevailing journeyperson’s wage rate at the apprentice’s workplace. Rates must not be less than the wage rate established by the Labour Standards Act (1990), as now in force or as hereafter amended, or by other order, as amended from time to time replacing the first mentioned order. Rates must not be less than the wage rate established by any collective agreement, which may be in force at the apprentice’s workplace. Employers are free to pay wage rates above the minimums specified.

Level Exams: Not all trades have Level exams. If a trade does not have a Level exam, this requirement is waived until exams are available. Apprentices who complete a pre-employment program do not need to complete a Level 1 exam.

Class Call at Minimum Hours: Class calls may not always happen at the minimum hours listed. there can be some variation based on the availability of training resources and apprentice needs.
