Wage Rates: Rates are percentages of the prevailing journeyperson’s wage rate at the apprentice’s workplace. Rates must not be less than the wage rate established by the Labour Standards Act (1990), as now in force or as hereafter amended, or by other order, as amended from time to time replacing the first mentioned order. Rates must not be less than the wage rate established by any collective agreement, which may be in force at the apprentice’s workplace. Employers are free to pay wage rates above the minimums specified.
Level Exams: Not all trades have Level exams. If a trade does not have a Level exam, this requirement is waived until exams are available. Apprentices who complete a pre-employment program do not need to complete a Level 1 exam.
