- Training institutions invited to submit proposals by given deadline, and are provided a guideline for submission requirements.
- Submitted proposals are assessed by the Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division (ATCD) to ensure courses meet set criteria for approval.
- Letters of approval or rejection are forwarded to training institutions.
- Training institutions contact potential nominees for approved courses (nominees must be unemployed and EI eligible).
- Nominees must confirm their availability with the training institution to attend the course.
- Training institutions must submit a request for training form via email to pjst@gov.nl.ca with the nominee list a minimum of 4 weeks prior to training start date.
- Before submitting nominee names, training institutions must ensure: those with out-of-province journeyperson status have contacted ATCD to be verified (refer to request for training form for instructions).
- ATCD will confirm nominee eligibility, and advise training institutions via email within 5 working days.
- ATCD will issue class calls via email directly to eligible nominees.
- At the end of the training period, training institutions submit attendance sheets along with invoices for payment.
- ATCD will process payments.
